Jobless...

The lucky talent is jobless in 2021.

Very rarely does the world of work enter into a new phase [see photo]. However in 2021 we stand on the doorstep of the "jobless revolution". The real talent in our workforce today is increasing jobless [either by deliberate choice or by covid-19 enforced circumstances]. And this talent is highly likely to remain "jobless" for the remainder of their working life.

The outright disclaimer to anything and everything I refer to here is that not all who are jobless are talented. However a great majority of those with high-paying jobs are actually talentless. This is a simple truism because the talentless choose the folks who fill the job vacancies; and, by any measure of common sense, this means the chosen ones are also talentless. Furthermore most folk who get "the job" are selected for their skill sets [and background experience] not for their talent. Indeed in many instances the evidence of talent in an applicant generates a disqualifying cross against him or her.

The lucky talent today avoids any, and all, HR departments because such places are truly toxic for them. HR is the place where talent goes to die. Rather than have anything to do with HR the most gifted among us tend to create networks [virtual and physical] that match their talent to a stream of rewards including cashflow. Ironically, perhaps, our future talent will most likely be drawn to areas of work that need creative and innovative solutions. High on the list is K-12 education. The provision of family-based learning must be expanded [this will come after the demise of government mandated learning and the extinction of teachers' unions]. Another area for rapid growth is in the provision of local services wherever reliable 5G networks exist. Creative solutions for food delivery, healthcare services, retail banks and supermarkets, etc are also likely beneficiaries due to the pending influx of talented workers.

Both the talented and the talentless will eventually be supported by some radical type of universal basic income schema. UBI systems will eventually be created by the most talented folks in our societies so that those who [for whatever reason] fall through the cracks in this new work environment are not left without food, shelter, and healthcare. Creative solutions to the homeless phenomenon will be found by the most talent people in our societies.

The future belongs to the talent that is currently not being deployed to its best effect in our over-regulated societies. Eventually the heavy hand of incompetent governments, stagnant corporations, and talentless media entities will exist to dominate a smaller and smaller part of our society. Meanwhile a new society will be created by talented folks who remain jobless.
