It's time to create a new workplace...

Real and virtual workers are a valuable asset.

The new workplace will be inhabited by real, and virtual, workers [see photo]. The real workers will meet you in face-to-face gatherings. The virtual workers [the same people] will meet you in a computer-generated space.

Thus the same worker carries two identities with him or her to work each day. He or she has the abilities needed to work in a virtual or a physical space. He or she is equally skilled at working with a virtual team of colleagues as with a tangible team of colleagues. He or she can manage a networked process equally as competently as a physical process. He or she is rare and thus very valuable to any contemporary entity.

These new workplaces, or spaces, must be equipped to cope with timetabled batches of inputs/outputs as competently as with a stream of content that is incoming/outgoing. Many skills, or competencies, are needed to work effectively and efficiently within such workplaces, or workspaces, but none more precious than a clear-and-present mind.

The mind must be cleared of all habits that derive from cult worship, ideological reverence, stultifying political alliances, etc. This mind must be rational, unbounded, creative, objective, uncorrupted, and unaffiliated with any union. This mind must be at ease working on Mars, or on Earth, in both a tangible and a virtual sense. This mind must serve as a precursor of what will be needed to work diligently in the latter part of this Century to clean up the mess left by those in charge of workplaces in the period 2020 through to 2050.
