Issues versus solutions...

Simplicity versus complexity.

The issue is simple; but, the solution is complex [see photo].

The issues of our times are inculcated into our mind through a simple narrative. For example, we have around ten years left on this planet due to Climate Change.

The possible solutions of our times are divisive because they are complex. For example, we must ban fossil fuels because the solution to Climate Change is all about renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, nuclear, etc.

Whenever you are drawn into a conversation about an issue you adopt a cooperative mindset. In this spirit of cooperation you can explore all issues because you are not required to commit to a particular course of action. For example, you may agree that humans are a major contributor to Climate Change.

Whenever you are drawn into a conversation about possible solutions to an issue you adopt a collaborative mindset. You join with those who support your "confirmation biases" on whichever set of actions is being proposed. For example, you may support the principle that no one should own anything and therefore that Government is the best arbiter of what can, and can not, be done to solve all the issues of Climate Change.
