I cooked myself a steak....

At the beginning of this current year I began "a meat only diet". And it worked. I felt better in so many ways but it had some annoying side effects for me which made it difficult to live with. Eventually I just got sick of the sight of steak. I never thought that could happen to me but it did. And thus I did not even look at a steak for months and months.

While talking to my doctor recently she suggested I take up eating meat again but to do it in moderation this time.

The other day I cooked myself a steak. It was an Irish eye fillet weighing around 300 grams. The preparation was simple. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil over both sides. Add some ground pepper and sea salt. Sear one side then the other on a hot frying pan. Then cook the whole thing until it is slightly crusty on both sides.

I sat and ate this meal without condiments, spices, or side dishes.

Sitting there eating this steak made me feel like I had died and gone to heaven.

Richard.
