This year of 2022 is a rinse and repeat version of 1968. On 6th June 1968 Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in useless waste of life. In January 1968 the Vietnam War rose a level as The Tet Offensive saw the Vietcong intensify the fight against the government in Saigon. The Vietnam War ramped up and almost immediately the world was swamped with an excess of US dollars as America invaded Asia with its economic power. At the time America was a net lender to the world [today it carries a $US 31 Trillion deficit]. In 1968 a new era of government spending [led by President Lyndon B Johnson with ramped up his Vietnam War and Great Society agendas]. From Canberra [Australia] to Washington DC [America] young men were joined by crowds to protest the notion that they could be conscripted by their government to fight in the Vietnam War. At the same time Second Wave Feminists were demonstrating in the streets as they promoted their case for abortion as a women's issue. Meanwhile global inflation seeds were sown only to grow and bloom in the 1970s. It is no longer a surprise to me that the core 1968 issue has been recycled in 2022 - that is the recycled war against the "individual" by "the collective".
Human life has a cycle - rinse and repeat [see photo]. Life is supported by the family [individuals] or the government [the collective]. In 1968 the world was trending hard towards the role of the government in the lives of individuals. You are a young Australian or American man so the government will conscript you to go fight in the jungles of South Vietnam. At the time the mantra of the government was we must fight them over there or we will end up fighting them over here [at home]. In 2022 the mantra is the same as we are told that we must send funds and materiale to the Ukraine as they fight the threat posed by the totalitarian regime of Putin. However the real message is that you as an individual must support the collective or live in fear. In 2020-21 governments around the world dictated that individuals must wear masks, shut-down their businesses, submit to vaccine injections, refuse to live as a family, etc. The nominal enemy was a virus [which had to be combatted for sure perhaps just like the Vietcong or Putin's army] BUT surely the real enemy was anyone who did not submit to the power of their totalitarian, woke, or oppressive government.
The parallels between 1968 and 2022 are stark. I urge you to look at the similarities of both times in human existence on this planet. I believe that if you can find your natural human gift [an open mind] to look at the human cycle of life then you will be less likely to fear any of the threats that your government raises to keep you in your allotted place. Your place is to be compliant and thus to "go along to get along". Humans are clearly flawed and the purest point of fracture comes whenever one of us [humans] wishes to be an individual in the face of the rule of the mob or the collective.
