Human Capital...
The most important, and most valuable, asset in the world is "human capital".
Human capital is based on people with a purpose, a skill set, and a developed ability to think. Seems such an old fashioned idea in 2023, eh?
In 2023, the most "talked" about asset is Artificial Intelligence. And yet, AI is useful because it builds off the product of a Century, or more, of human capital. It is people who create, innovate, and propagate ideas and economic systems. Sure AI can help humans to do that faster than before; but, AI can not and will not replace the intrinsic power of "human capital".
AI is the "flavour of the month"; but, it is human capital that builds the economic wealth that lifts individuals, and groups, out of poverty.
In the future, AI will automate so much that produces friction, lags, and ineffectiveness in our systems and I trust this will be a good thing. The question is "will AI be deployed to increase, or to reduce, human well being?"
Each of us has an important role to play in how, and when, AI is deployed. "Will we use this amazing new asset well or poorly?"
