Minimalists do what has to be done.
If you watch the 1952 movie "High Noon" starring Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly you will understand what it means to be a minimalist.
A few rogue criminals are trying to hijack a small town once again. The good people of the town are all cowards and retreat to their houses. One person, the Sherif, is left to face down four killers. He is urged by his wife of minutes to get out of town and save himself rather than make her a widow. She is a Quaker so he knows why she is opposed to his decision to stay.
Watch the movie to see what happens to this one man army.
To suggest that he is a model minimalist is to point to his three main character traits.
1] He thinks for himself: he is not swayed by the collective cowardice [and group think] of the community in this town.
2] He has the discipline to overcome his fear of the killers he must kill on this day if he is survive.
3] He has an over-whelming belief in the rule of law.
Richard.
