Herd community....

Newminimalists strive for herd immunity.

Individuals inside a herd form a community.

How do you control a herd [see photo]? One popular way is to convert it into a community.

The "herd community" is intellectually a one-think community. This type of community can be formed by an ideology, theology, or consensus that is based in fear of a common threat. For example, the covid-19 virus, the random impact of climate change, the suppression of you by the institutions of society, etc.

The "herd community" stays connected through common rituals and habits. For example, put on a mask. Distance yourself from others because they may carry the covid-19. Restrict your social interactions because the invisible harm of covid-19 comes from irresponsible individuals who refuse to comply to rules of the herd community.

The "herd community" remains the rational choice for those who hope that someone is in control of the social spread of covid-19. The basis of this rational choice is a belief in a future that is best defined by those who understand the ways that individuals spread the covid-19 virus. For example, the overwhelming belief is that irrational people spread the covid-19 to the cost and harm of the herd community who obey the rules.

The common response to the covid-19 virus has led to the emergence of herd communities in very different jurisdictions. Taiwan and Sweden are not forming "herd communities" because those societies decided to fight the covid-19 virus through herd immunity.

Herd immunity is being denounced repeatedly all over the world by those who are invested in imposing a new form of "herd community".
