Grudges...

Latent hostility.

Hate and haters are all around us today [see photo]. Surely this is learned behaviour? Can such habits be unlearnt? Early age in life we learn to hold, keep, and even treasure grudges.

Grudges

By Shelley Bruce

Grudges are earned

Holding them is learned

Grudges are a mission

Cancer without remission

Empathy is null and void

Rancour keeps our spirits buoyed

Grudges are earned

Holding them is learned

Kids hold grudges

They are their tells

Hate them; not us

Love us; not them

Grudges are earned

Holding them is learned

Grudges are never a whim

Restraint is therefore very slim

Hate is the devil we pursue

Cycles of torment will ensue

Grudges are earned

Holding them is learned

Grudges mature like red wine

Pay back is delivered over time

Victims know not what to heed

Revenge is severed from the deed

Grudges are earned

Holding them is learned
