Before we begin I must tell you that my formula for Groupthink goes as follows:
Emotions x Ideology / Intellect.
Emotions as expressed by feelings, desires, wants, etc.
Ideology as expressed by belief sets, confirmation biases, religious affiliations, etc.
Intellect as expressed by IQ, common sense, rational thinking, etc.

Group think is a system and you are a cog within it. You can paint yourself yellow, red, green, brown, white, blue, or purple and it makes no difference because you are still beholding to the system [see photo].
When you become a minimalist "you are the system". You are accountable for whatever happens to you whether you are experiencing a run of good or bad luck. And self-regulation and accountability are important today because a lot of folk - including your familial - are experiencing runs of bad luck during this covid-dominated era. When you hold yourself to a higher standard than those you see around you then you are on a different trajectory into the future. Indeed you may invent a future that will be followed later by those who are currently being suppressed, or held back, via the mob and their Group think ways.
A minimalist is "a culture of one" because he or she establishes taboos, morals, standards, ethics, etc. for himself or herself. As a practicing minimalist you are accountable for each and everything you do no matter the unintended consequences that may flow from your actions. You are the disciplinarian who keeps the hubris of others at bay by allowing the humility of self to rule your day. You are the spark that ignites the imagination, creativity, energy, and enthusiasm that drives and sustains a purpose filled life. You are.....
