Before we begin I must tell you that my formula for Groupthink goes as follows:
Emotions x Ideology / Intellect.
Emotions as expressed by feelings, desires, wants, etc.
Ideology as expressed by belief sets, confirmation biases, religious affiliations, etc.
Intellect as expressed by IQ, common sense, rational thinking, etc.

It is time to get real about the state of the world in 2021 [see photo]. Groupthink is our mundane sign that the human experiment on Earth is failing.
The turning point for human evolution should have been in July 1969 when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the Moon. The photos of Earth Rise shot from the surface of the Moon changed the intellectual boundaries for most humans. The limits on human ambitions were erased by the release of those photos. Thinking humans began to dream of better times as the technologies that took men to the Moon were able to lift us all to greater and greater levels of success on Earth and in Space. But none of these thinkers reckoned on the rise and rise of Group think
The declining standards of human settlement around the globe today is inexplicable given the advances that have been made in communications, pharmaceuticals, housing, aviation, education, etc. The discord here is that all these advances are directed at the individual but not valued by the collective. For example, the photos of Earth Rise were consumed by him or her not by them. Indeed the collective [them] were vehemently opposed to the Apollo Space Program because they wanted the money NASA spent to be redirected towards their pet projects around the globe. A common complaint was that it was obscene to spend so much money on an abstract achievement when it could be spent on curing a disease or alleviating hunger. A common retort to such critics was presented by those who explained that Americas spent more on personal grooming products per year than NASA spent on exploring Space.
In 2021 the human experiment on Earth is failing due to the widespread acceptance of Group think. The individual dreams of new adventures and lofty visions of life on Mars or other venues in Open Space. Meanwhile the collective seeks the power to enforce diversity-equity-inclusion programs on every human living on Earth today. Group think is what gives rise to such social re-engineering programs. Group think is being actively advanced by the collective despite, or because of, the fact that it stunts the evolution of the individual. The individual is denounced while the shabby standards of the collective are praised.
Where all this will end is not yet known but it will be far from the promise that was expressed by Neil Armstrong when he first touch foot on the Moon. Astronaut Neil Armstrong steps down from the ladder on the Luna Module saying: "That's one small step for man. One giant leap for mankind.”
