The photo above brings back to my mind so many positive memories - snorkelling off Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef or just off Poipu Beach on Kauai.
These special moments are all times when we are positive. But finding that positive place within you, on a daily basis, is a challenge.
Here are three steps you can take to improve your chances of finding the positive centre within you. All three steps involve relationships.
Number One. Your relationship with yourself. This is the most important relationship you possess. It is the inner voice that runs 24/7 that tells you whether you have a positive relationship with yourself. Edit out the negatives. Curate the positives.
Number Two. Your relationship with others. Your work colleagues, your friends and family, your social media contacts, and your mentors. Cut out the negative voices you hear. Do not import the problems of the world into your inner voice. Curate a positive message and mantra that you can share with others.
Number Three. Your relationship with death. You are most positive in life when you accept that you are only a second, or a poor decision, away from death. While swimming with the fishes in Australia I was always conscious of death lurking around me. Bad decisions by me or my diving partners about our trajectory through another creatures natural habitat could lead to injury or death. This is a positive because it makes one accept the risks that one takes in life and focuses the mind on what is worth saving about one and what is not.
