Every minimalist is unique....

Minimalists live their life based on their needs not on other peoples' wants.

This little guy is special.

Each minimalist is special because they have discovered their unique version of minimal-you. [see photo].

Uniqueness is the result of a certain mindfulness, habit pattern, and belief set. Minimalists focus on their needs and thus they tend to avoid the peer pressure of collective wants. This means that minimalists can live a simple or a complex life. Often people assume that a minimalist is living in a cave that is devoid of the comforts that a modern lifestyle can provide. However that is not true. Some of worldly comforts are enjoyed by minimalists as much as by everyone else. Indeed some minimalists are very wealthy, powerful, famous, etc and so they have many of the toys that others in that category have and enjoy.

The main character trait of the minimalist is that he or she is accountable for his or her words and actions. Most also take on the responsibilities that fall to them. Most of them find that there is a cutting-edge to their insights because they look at the issues of the day from all sides not just from the perspective of their clan, tribe, or cult.

So here are some mundane character traits that make me feel special.

I get bored easily but I love being bored.

I read less and less but write more and more.

I prefer face-to-face interactions, negotiations, meetings, etc.

I curate the opinions of outsiders as my primer for a better life.

I find nothing interesting about most social networking events.

I look for quality in what I ingest, digest, and request.

I crave to hear from people with something original to say even if I think it is a load of crap.

I love the fact that most people work in the system and that system somehow supports me.

I constantly urge people to find themselves rather than to change themselves.

I see people bumbling their way through life in a zig-zag fashion and that is fine by me.

I am a minimalists based on my current unique version of minimal-you.

I prize the wisdom in the world and seek it out.

Cheers, Richard.
