Electric cars sell because they are subsidised by general revenue. These vehicles are subsidized because they do not pollute as they move along our roads. Since I first heard of this movement towards electric cars I was aware that they were a lie. They continue to be a lie because they pollute in ways that are never seen. They pollute in their build. They pollute in the production of the electricity they need as fuel. They pollute when their batteries are spent and they must be disposed of. They pollute because they push up electricity costs [due to increased demand] and require a new infrastructure for charging them while on the road or at home. They pollute because so many of the processes that produce an electric car are subject to cap-and-trade offsets. And so on and so on...
I suspect that the electric car is a boondoggle solution to a problem [CO2 emissions] that can be better solved with the cost of these curiosities. The electric car is not the solution to the problems of our world in 2022.
