Education, diet, and religion...

Making your way through life on a unicycle.

Making your way through life with balance, grace, and purpose is a difficult feat unless, or until, you truly understand who you are and where you a heading [see photo]. As a minimalist I just love the photo of the girl on the unicycle because this image sums up what life is truly all about.

What do I mean? Life is framed for me, and you, by three core factors: thoughts, habits, and beliefs. You might prefer to think of these three elements as: education, diet, and religion.

Education presets your thoughts about the world in ways that are hard to reset. The primary role of the educator is to focus on the student; thus a teacher must earnestly challenge the thinking processes of each individual in a class. When this done it is not uncommon to rank students on merit. This form of education is a great match to the life needs of each student. This type of education becomes a stable platform for the girl on the unicycle and you.

Diet has become a virtuous signal for individual/group habits. If you eat plants you are a good person [you are fighting Climate Change and saving the planet]. If you eat meat you are bad a bad person [you are contributing to Climate Change and placing the planet in peril]. If your habits are aligned with those who unconditionally accept "mandated health measures" [masks, vaccines, lockdowns, etc] then you are a good person. If for medical, religious, or you have gained immunity because you survived an attack from Covid and you stay unvaccinated then you are a bad person.

Religion has always been a foundation stone for individual beliefs. However the religion is not the same thing as the Church where people gather to renew their commitments to a spiritual narrative for their life. The religion you follow is perhaps your calling but it is not your identity. If you are clear about who you are [and your purpose in life] perhaps your religion serves to consolidate your true sense of self.

Once you establish your core notion of minimal-you then you are the equivalent of the girl on the unicycle. You can become the equivalent of the girl on the unicycle if you find your unique version of minimal-you [for more on that possibility please go to minimal-you.com].
