Minimalists are perhaps a figment of my imagination.
The individual in 2021 is primarily an image on a screen. The new new reality dictates that this version of an individual is dead, unless or until, it is assigned a living identity by the collective that rules your world.
In the workplace you must reframe yourself to fit within the culture being shaped by those who trumpet the "diversity and inclusion" rubric. If you are not "woke" in ways that allow you to fit into your 2021 workplace, whether it is physical or virtual, as an accepted member of a group, team, or collective then you are largely invisible. Inside these groups or teams a few people are anointed with, or naturally assume, the power that is on offer to those who frame the language of the prevailing culture.
Here is the main point of this missive. If you exist only on a screen then you are dead or dying [see photo]. Indeed if you do not meet regularly with your team or group for face-to-face interactions you will be dead to them. So this idea that people will no longer work in collective entities downtown, or in some other location, is patently absurd because the individual who works from home is dead. Got it.....
Joe Rogan is an individual who refuses to comply with the dictates of the woke collective who regularly meet and plot within Spotify. Joe is not part of the collective and so he is dead to them. Perhaps a better representation of Joe is that he is an image on a screen not a real person. The counterpoint of that is that Joe does standup comedy in workplaces where others share his insights into the world via his jokes. Joe also does a lot of commentating in and around marshal arts events. So while Joe is probably about to be erased as a podcaster he will not be eliminated as a comedian or a fights announcer and commentator.
You seek to exist primarily as an image on a digital screen, right?
Richard.
