Crisis today is the lack of social change...

The year of social change - 1968

The big issue facing all of us today is not our carbon-based economy, diversity and inclusion, gender roles, government tyranny, wealth disparities, and so on and so on. The hype around these issues is fuelled by the real issue of our times - we have slow-walked social change since 1968.

Social change is locked in a time capsule that takes us back to the 1968. The last year of real social change was around 50 years ago. We have seen no real social change while the technology revolution has zipped ahead. The result is a huge gap between social change and technological change.

Social change has no power, energy, purpose, structure, or momentum. It has been in a 50 year entropic cycle. Trust, honesty, cooperation, and cohesion has imploded. The result is social chaos where mistrust, malevolent collusion, and tribal wars thrive. The global media fuels this lie as presenters frame contemporary social issues as "entertainment" for a change starved audience.

The great lie today is that we live in an era of "rapid change". This is a lie but it is also a fantasy because the only change that is happening today is being driven by "digital technologies" and even that momentum is beginning to slow. The truth is we live in a time of "social stagnation". A time of never-ending "sameness" that is leading the world towards structural tribalism. Wars are on the horizon because there is no rational process for social change in homes, workplaces, nations, or around the globe.
