Life is best when it is a creative mess in these boring times.
The most unbearable mess for me is to see, feel, and experience boredom. This is an organised state of mind that leaves one more stupid than before. It is an unproductive human condition that not as uncommon as one might suspect it to be. And this is a state of mind that has been taught to each and everyone of us from the time we were able to speak.
If your world is currently caught in the grip of boredom then I believe you need the advice laid bare here.
Most human being thrive with creative mess once they learn to deal with it. In simple terms this creative messiness has elements of uncertainty, ambiguity, and randomness built into it.
Uncertainty exists due to an individual's lack of imagination in the situation. The most productive way to get started is to imagine the uncertainty has suddenly disappeared. The next thing to do is to work back from that end state to your current situation.
Ambiguity persists when an individual lack context. Language, image, sound, and texture, are best described when set against the backdrop of a real or an imagined context. Time, space, and motion are present inside the context or the narrative that is used to frame them.
Randomness is present when small things make a difference. A misplaced word. A bad tempered action. An unexpected sound or movement in a cocoon of static compliance. Randomness can breakthrough the walls of boredom and release it prisoner.
