Coronavirus proves globalism is fragile..

Newminimalist are anti-fragile.

Coronavirus exposed global fragility

If we were not interconnected through globalisation then the coronavirus would have remained a local epidemic in China. In fact the coronavirus is a "systemic pandemic" that only exists because of globalisation. Indeed this virus has proved that our centralised globalism system is extremely fragile. And the mistakes being made in the centralised government responses to this virus has increased the fragility of global healthcare systems. This occurs because when centralised systems face a crisis the short-term goal is to eliminate the probability of making mistakes. In turn this means these centralised systems act way too slowly to get out ahead of the virus and so it spreads more quickly than it otherwise would.

Ironically though this coronavirus outbreak may eventually increase the anti-fragile nature of human beings around the world. This will "anti-fragile effect" will occur as and when people wake to the fact that when centralised governments control their lives they are trapped in a fragile system.

Centralised governments are greedy because they have an insatiable list of "collective wants" which they respond to with more and more spending. And much of this increase in spending comes from borrowed funds so government debt climbs as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product. And yet these centralised governments are linked into a global system which acts as an omnipotent regulator for 7.8 billion people. At the core of this global system is a collection of central banks. Attached to that regulatory central financial system is a range of big, middle size, and small private banks. This means that today's global banking system is as fragile today as it was back in 2008 when it led us all into a global recession. Given the amount of debt that the current global system relies upon to keep the lights on we might be headed into a deep and desperate economic depression.

The shadow to this fragile global financial system is a fragile global healthcare system. We have clear evidence that the global financial system is as fragile today as it was in 2008. Indeed it worse than 2008 because today we are all trapped within a slow moving global bureaucracy that did not get out ahead of the coronavirus when it first made its presence felt in China. The world healthcare system sat back and waited and waited and waited to see what would happen. Bureaucrats are not brave they are by nature and training best at being slow and measured not inventive and innovative. Thus by the time these global bureaucrats finally accepted the fact that we faced a "systemic pandemic" all 7.8 Billion people on Earth were already at the mercy of a global crisis.
