Certain memes govern you?

Seize the day.

During this week listen closely to the recurring memes that your inner voice articulates. At the end of the week you will have curated a meme-based description of your life.

At some level we all know that the memes running inside our heads govern our thoughts, habits, and beliefs. But what do we do about this truth?

Some religiously repeat affirmations at the start of each day. Some establish mind maps for the next 24 hours, week, month, year, etc. The idea behind this ritual is that your thoughts can be reprogrammed. Some people find this to be true. In this case the aim is to establish clear and present expressions for your future thoughts, habits, and beliefs.

What remains opaque however is the meme that have been passed down to you through the generations. For example, although some people have never read the words "carpe diem" they nonetheless know about the sentiment it promotes: "seize the day" [see photo].

I believe the memes [mind-tapes] inside your head ultimately determines who you choose to "hang with", who you choose as your partners, how you choose to live, and ultimately where you choose to live. And. I suspect that this is as true for the poorest peasant in India as it is for the most famous billionaire in the same nation.

This is true because they each make the most of what they have each and everyday: each one of them does "seize the day".

Richard.
