Minimalists retain their own sense of power as they oppose the collective.
Biden has been crippled by his own campaign [see photo]. He has lost the power of the people; and instead, he relies upon the inert power of the Elite Class around him.
He almost lost his majority in the House. The Senate result is at best a jump ball. And the people around him know that they will have gained office by coup.
I know from my own life experiences how those who serve in this Biden Administration will feel. Been there and done that.
The inertia and caution around those who joined his team to do expansive things will extinguish their hope and dreams of real change. By the end of the first 100 days the in-fighting will escalate to tribal warfare. The 16 to 18 hour days that most people work will tire even the most committed staff and tempers will fray. Rent seekers and their ilk will swarm The White House. Incompetence will flourish.
Biden will not do the following:
Establish a Green New Deal
Provide a single-payer healthcare system
End the urban blight and communal decline in American cities
Lift minorities out of poverty
Improve education standards in K-12 schools
But most telling of all will be that his "build back better" mantra will become a standing joke. Biden will fail to show the world that "the collective" is superior to the "individual".
Richard.
