We can not foretell the future; but, we can live better now.
Right now I live as a minimalist and I am thriving.
Minimalist eliminate collective wants. They automate positive habits. And they constantly review, and sometimes recreate, their beliefs. If you choose to do this too then there is one thing that you will need - discipline. To become a minimalist and therefore to become the architect of your future [see photo] you must possess self-discipline. And the true focus of your discipline must be your needs not collective wants.
Collective wants are fashioned by those who gain power by "going along to get along". And these are too often not the source of human wisdom. More likely such folks are beholding to an ideology or a strict set of religious beliefs. While holding firmly to those beliefs they will claim to be virtuous and to have only the best interest of others at heart. But most of these folk are actually self-centred and selfish. Disappointingly such folk are in power today and they seem determined to implode the prevailing social order.
When you become a minimalist you focus on needs and largely ignore wants. Of course your individual needs will also include [to some degree] those of your familial.
Collective leadership ensures minimalists are the target of hubris, envy, and hateful judgement. But collectivism is a passing fad even if it lasts for the remainder of this Century.
Richard.
