American nightmare...

Updated: Dec 22, 2021

America has become a monster.

The American nightmare is that the power Elite [government, media, corporates, institutions, etc] lies to themselves and the rest of the world [see photo].

America is a shadow of the inventive and innovative community it was at the end of WWII. This decline really began in the 1960s during the Johnson Administration. The tag given to that version of the American Power Elite was "the great society". That great society movement expanded the fiscal limits of spending on War in Vietnam [turned US surpluses into US deficits and infused excesses of fiat currency into the global exchange system which led to a decade of inflation and shortages and culminated in price controls] and social programs at home. That administration began a change in America which saw a steady decline in education, community, government, and moral standards. Some might argue that the Reagan Administration slowed this decline but if that was the case then this was only a minor hiccup in a change that has gained pace once more in 2021.

America is a contemporary monster because the pace of invention and innovation has slowed to a walk. But... The unspoken deal between America and the World is that it will export productivity [growth]. America today is a sinkhole where productivity and global growth goes to die. There is 30 trillion of $US debt and beneath that Washington is pumping more and more fiat currency into the world. Public policy in Washington is all tactical focussed on the past not the future; it seems that there is no understanding of strategy. Strategy has context built-in and the lack of that bigger perspective is obvious in American Society today.

America is a living nightmare that will leave the people of the world less able to cope with its future challenges.

Richard.
