Newminimalists have set themselves free.
I do not live in American and in 2002 I do not even wish to visit the place. It is a mess. But not because of Obamagate [Republicans against Democrats], or Russiagate [Democrats against Republicans], but rather it is because of Americagate [Americans against Americans].
Media commentators get well paid to promote their opinions on the state of America today. Most of them point to the political, demographic, racial, gender, and other divides that have become the narrative for Americans in 2020. However. The real issue [for me] is the haunting systemic corruption that runs right through America from the halls of Congress, to Law Courts, to City Hall, to Governors' Mansions, etc. This is real reason that homelessness [not the Federal Budget Deficit] is the number one issue in America today. The sign that America no longer works is illustrated by the the fact that the homeless live in tents by the roadside [the human cost of failed society] just miles from new and second-hand dealerships that have acres upon acres of homeless cars [caused by the irresponsible over production of things].
America has become a dysfunctional society that is heading towards a dystopian future. I am saddened by this fact because I always thought of it as "my light on the hill". That light has gone out.
Richard.
