The twin cities of Minneapolis and St Paul are no longer recognisable as America sinks into third nation status. The collectives who demand urgent structural change are represented by mobs in the streets who seek to burn America down. As is often the case the match that lite the fire under this mob rage was the actions of two individuals. One was a policeman and the other was a person who was in custody. And as is often the case what actually happened to those two people is unclear or fuzzy.
There is a blatantly false narrative in America which is being exposed by the current mob rule in the streets of the twin cities and of Atlanta. This narrative is about the freedom of the individual, the wealth of the USA, the blind lady of justice, the innovative nature of capitalism, the unity of Americans, and much more. Working against that narrative is the incompetence and corruption that has pervaded American institutions. The individuals in power have become rich while they ignore the collective who elected them or pay the taxes that support them. The notion that American institutions from the White House on down are the best of the breed in the world is a dangerous lie.
President Trump is proving to be an incompetent leader. Biden is hiding out in a basement. The elected officials in DC, on both sides of the aisle, are proving to be cowards who care more about themselves than the people they are suppose to lead in good and bad times. The crime here is that those who rush to talk to the media are safe while those who are seen running from fire to fire, from shop looting to chanting in the streets, and who actively participate in a senseless destruction of their city are living in the misery of America's failure.
The one thing that seems more probable today than yesterday is that Biden will be elected as President in 2020. And this means that the current system of incompetence, corruption, inequality, injustice, and hubris will be maintained for the next four years. Four more years of decline will see America sink to new lows in social cohesion, individual exceptionalism, public and private innovation. By the way re-electing Trump will not change the outlook for America because he has become another White House captive of the DC mafia. Clearly, he lacks the leadership skills needed to reboot America.
No one has a simple answer to America's complex sway of problems. However. I will try provide you with a framework for action. I have a few key things that could be worked on that might just make America great again.
Introduce a Universal Basic Income system the cost of which is offset by a truly massive downsizing of DC spending and power.
Introduce a single pay healthcare system that is paid for, in part, via a permanent levy on income tax for everyone [this levy should follow progressive taxation rules].
Reduce the total receipts from taxes at the Federal level. Deliberately create a huge hole in the revenue that DC has to spend. Part of this reform will be to abolish the Federal Reserve because Modern Monetary Theory [print money forever] is about to produce recurring bouts of stagflation and/or hyper-inflation.
Abolish most of the current DC departments starting with Department of Education. Most of these functions can be returned to local authorities.
Push as a matter of urgency of the roll-out of 5G [not tied to China] as the core C21st infrastructure for a local-based economy which will rise over the next 10 to 20 years.
Stop all bail-outs of entities that do not deliver value, quality, or sensible purpose.
Elect a leader who can rally people in hard times.
