Each person [in a team] MUST be disciplined. What they do well comes from the discipline they apply to the task at hand. I like to think about the discipline it takes for a spider to build a web; and then, when it freezes over to build it again - see photo.
If you have a disciplined mind you will focus on NEEDS not on WANTS.
What do you NEED? Use your disciplined mind to crush your immediate NEEDS and you will succeed just as the spider does when she or he spins a web. It is generally accepted that female spiders spin webs to sustain life. It is also generally accepted that male spiders spin webs to procreate life. Clearly, female and male spiders have very different NEEDS, however, they both have the discipline required to crush their needs.
WANTS belong to 'other people' not to you or your team - you only ever own your NEEDS. Detail your needs and get on crushing them. Change your needs [as and when required] but never ever change your commitment to discipline.
I hope this is useful for you.
