Calm...

Calm

Finally I am calm [see photo]. This blessed event happened to me because I chose individual needs over collective wants. Therefore today the beauty in life comes from its simplicity. In order to live a simple life I have deliberately shutdown the rage, noise, and anxiety in me.

Calm comes with a high cost but it is one I find is easy to pay. I have left behind most of the clutter inside the saddle bags I carry with me. To reach this point of calm I had to create and then implement a process which was simple to follow. Through purposeful practice of that process I gradually embedded the core principles of calmness into me. This all really started for me while I was travelling around India in my youth. At that time I crossed paths with a guru who suggested I find my calm centre which he referred to as bliss. I quickly dismissed his advice because he lived amongst rank squalor - there were no angels singing his chant and no signs that he was headed towards any type of Western success. I was young. I was arrogant. And I was full of hubris. So I discarded the wiseman as a relic of another culture. I was wrong and it took me several decades to discover just how wrong I had been.

Calm is a state of being that is precious but not rare. Everyone can find their own version of it [minimal-you]. Your version will differ from mine. Your version will be less, or more expansive, than mine [you might have greater or fewer needs than I do]. However... Your version will propel you into a state of sustained well being. Your version will shift your focus from the meaning of life and onto the purpose of life. Your version will set you free - just like the Indian Guru I met all those years ago - despite the fact that you must cope with lockdowns, cancel culture, intellectual squalor, public censorship, and group think.

My mind as a minimalist is developed on a unique sense of what I call minimal-you which, in turn, is based on individual needs not collective wants. For instruction on how to establish your sense of you: go to minimal-you.com and hit the "become a minimalist" button in the banner heading. This will take you to a payment scheme for a 10 day programme that will teach you how to design, enforce, and live with mind filters: these help you to be the best person you can be.
